Still Spittin! I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE: Part 2 "The Sequel" in the Works
Okay all of you dirty rotten little Bidites, it’s been a full day since both the original and remake versions of I SPIT ON YOUR GRAVE were released onto DVD/Blu-ray…. Soooo, I’m sure you’re all thoroughly sick of it and couldn’t possibly hear another word about it! No? Good ‘cause I have news!...
Follow up:
If you were expecting the usual breaking news of a remake of a remake rebooted, re-imagined and re-envisioned, you’re out of luck. Nope, we’re talkin’ sequel Bubba! Meir Zarchi, writer/producer/director of the original SPIT and executive producer of the 2010 remake, has already started talking about “spitting” out another, well, SPIT.
In a conversation with The Examiner, Zarchi spat, “We are working on the sequel now. Hopefully, if everything goes well, we’ll be doing it this year. All I can tell you is that it is 20 years later and the town where it happened, where [the character Jennifer] killed five characters, is seeking revenge.” He went on to add that “Jennifer’s best-selling novel recounting her traumatic ordeal and the court proceedings that followed is what angers the town’s residents into getting retribution.”
In case you’re not really paying attention, he said “20 years later”. So, is that 20 years after the original or the remake? Get on the phone and call Doc Brown ‘cause we’re either heading back to 1998 or jumping straight to 2030….which contradicts the film 2012…but I really can’t handle dealing with ‘N Sync all over again…now my brain hurts.
At any rate, if Zarchi has his way, I’m sure it’ll be worth it! We’ll keep you updated and, by the way, you’ve got a little spit…right on your…other side…you got it!

Court proceedings? This makes me wonder if they even watched the original film. How in the world does a court of law come into the story? The woman gets raped repeatedly and is allowed to live by her attackers. So she then gets her revenge by killing them all off one by one. Now I can see going to the law if you are raped that makes sense but you are not going to the law if you have killed several people. Sure what they did to her deserved strong retribution on her part but if I was in her shoes after I had killed several people I would have garbed a handful of greyhound bus and headed to either Canada or Mexico. I surely would not take the chance that a could convince a jury that I should go free. So they do the sequel like this and the town gets mad at her and tries killing her only to fail then she has to kill the whole town for revenge? They should just leave well enough alone...
