Many things can factor into that such as limited theatrical release met with poor acceptance, such as THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES, and even just not being sold. Follow up:
Peter Schlessel and Bob Berney's FilmDistrict, who also distributed DISTRICT 9, are set to release the remake that was produced by Guillermo Del Toro and Mark Johnson. August 12th is the release date for the flick that stars Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce and Bailee Madison. Del Toro comments saying "Miramax has done an inspired job finding the right home for our film that took 15 years to get made."DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK follows ayoung girl (Madison), who's sent to live with her father (Pearce) and his girlfriend (Holmes) in the old mansion they are renovating, where she unwittingly unleashes malevolent creatures bent on destroying all of them.
