Sony Picks up Dune’s ZOMBIES VS. ROBOTS
This has been quite the week in the zombie world, hasn’t it? Everyone is jumping on the bandwagon after AMC had success with The Walking Dead. Most are more likely to flop that thrive on that same success; however, Sony just picked up a film that just might be worth it, in ZOMBIES VS. ROBOTS....
Follow up:
This has the same formula as The Walking Dead did. It was a comic book first, and someone is taking a chance on it. It will either be a huge hit, or a mega flop. JT Petty (Director of The Burrowers) is set to be behind the camera, with the film being a co-production between Platinum Dunes, Circle of Confusion and IDW, and produced by Michael Bay, Brad Fuller, Andrew Form, Dave Alpert and Rick Jacobs.
The plot follows a young girl who is the last survivor on Earth. She is protected by a group of robots from a pack of zombies that are intelligent and evolved. Unsure if the title of the film will be ZOMBIES VS. ROBOTS or INHERIT THE EARTH, because JT Petty used the comic as the basis for a spec script called Inherit the Earth.
