ROBOCOP Reboot Back on Track with New Director Choice
MGM is FINALLY starting to show life again! They are developing so many original projects it’s not even funny! That’s how I wish I could have started this paragraph, but for anyone that has been keeping up, this sadly is not the case. MGM is looking to develop remakes to many of the titles in their catalogue, despite the Poltergeist sequel they seem to be moving forward with - oh yeah, and ROBOCOP is the latest fatality to be hit by the remake bullet. More deets after the click Bidites!
Follow up:
MGM is negotiating with Brazilian director Jose Padilha to direct RoboCop, the remake of the futuristic 1987 film originally helmed by Paul Verhoeven.
For those of you who just somehow FORGOT what the 1987 classic is all about, Robocop is about a cop who was near death and was drafted to become a powerful cyborg cop, until suppressed memories of his past life come back to haunt him. The film spawned two sequels, TV-Series, AND a possible statue in Detroit! If they raised $50,000 for it, let them do it.
