RESIDENT EVIL 5 in 3D Confirmed and Release Date Announced
Sony's RESIDENT EVIL 5 (in eye-gouging 3D) is hitting theaters September 14th, 2012. Details are very scarce at this point but we do know that Milla Jovovich will be back. The story is expected to pick up where RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE left off...
Follow up:
The fourth installment in the series, RESIDENT EVIL: AFTERLIFE grossed nearly $300 million worldwide last September when it release. Plans for a fifth film were almost a definite because of the success that the series continues to enjoy. It is likely that Paul W.S. Anderson will be involved again, though his role is unknown at the time of this writing. Stay tuned as we expect to hear a lot more about this project very soon.

ugh. how about instead of a fifth one, they just revamp the series and make it GOOD. The games had so much to work with for amazing films, this douche just completely disregarded it, and came up with pure crap.
I hate each one of these movies, NERD RAGE. lol :)

i get that its its own story...i am really am cool with that mainly, because i didnt play the games
but the first movie was barely watchable
the second was ok
the third was a turd floater
the fourth was a massive uncontrollable projectile diarrhea overload
if the 5th is picking up where 4 left off then we can expect to have to buy a new toilet
this is one franchise i would be 100% happy with if they chose to "reboot" it

the last resident evil movie redeemed the whole franchise in my eyes, i've played every RE game on multiple occassions, and as a fan of the games this movie was like a gift to me. it even tried to erase alot of the storylines of the last two movies, which was another gift. jill, wesker, claire and chris are all no major parts of the story, and wesker in Afterlife was one of the best movie villians(to me) in the last couple years. 6 months ago i wouldn't have said this, but i'm thrilled they are making another one. and honestly, i wouldn't watch a video game movie if i didn't really play the game. i mean, whats the point??
