In case there wasn't quite enough of the Devil in your day, word comes from Just Jared that Jeff Bridges has signed on as an exorcist in the film THE SEVENTH SON. Alex Pettyfer and Jennifer Lawrence also will star and the film is set to be directed by Sergey Bodrov....
Based on the book by Matt Baglio, The Rite is exactly what you would expect from another film about exorcism. The advantage of this film is that it is based on the factual tale of Rev. Gary Thomas, changed to Michael Kovak for the film. I'll use the term factual lightly as it really is up to the viewer to determine what their belief on the entire matter is....
The American viewers LOVE anything paranormal. You can tell from the amount of specials and short lived series that anything that has to deal with ghosts, bigfoot, or aliens is here to stay. The Discovery channel has had its fair share of things that go bump in the night, thanks to its successful series, A HAUNTING. Now they hope for that same success with a much more demonic series....
