Recently a piece about the "Top Ten" Most Paused Movie Moments has been making the rounds. It was originally posted on LOVEFiLM, which is pretty much Netflix in Europe. They polled subscribers to come up with the list. Feast on it after the break...

So as you may know, February is 'Women in Horror' month, so I couldn’t help but think that a top 10 count down of all the horror scream queens that gave us a reason to not stop watching other than blood was in order. So let me start this off by making a quick disclaimer, this are the top 10 Horror Scream Queens in my humble opinion, that being said, I would love to see who did you think I left out (I know, Danielle Harris), who would you leave out, who would you crown, and all that good stuff...

When the guys asked me if I'd like to work on a Dario Argento piece I jumped at it. I was only 20 years old when I was able to get a hold of a Dario Argento flick. It was purchased out of state by my girlfriend for me on my birthday; needless to say it was the best birthday ever. The movie in question was none other than Profondo Rosso (a.k.a. Deep Red). That is the movie that changed my life...

I don't normally knock out "Top Ten" lists very often. I always find myself fighting to figure out which film I actually enjoyed more but when the guys asked me to come up with a "Top Ten Horror Flicks of 2010" I figured it would be a breeze. Only after I started did I find out that instead of trying to decide what the best was, I would be left wondering if there were even 10 good horror films released in 2010...

It's always fun to see what other film directors think of the horror genre and what they enjoyed growing up, not only as a child but as a film maker. Over the weekend Martin Scorsese told The Daily Beast his favorite 11 horror films. Feast on his list and see if you agree with it after the break...

Its that time of the year again for blood, gore and chainsaws – and with the invention of “made in 3D movies” this Halloween the array of cringe-worthy, stomach rolling movie options can only get better! However, this year, the Halloween box office will battle between two opposite types of horror films as the leading contenders...

Now this is a video that every movie fan should watch. WorstPreviews posted this earlier citing Pajiba as the source, whoever put it together all we can say is thanks. This is not work safe as it does include many foul language scenes but is more than worth the 10 minute run time. Can you count how many horror films were referenced?

Alright so the inevitable has happened. Zombies have taken over the world, big surprise we know. We prepare for it everyday. If the power goes out, if the pizza delivery arrives late, if the sun disappears behind the clouds we immediately grab the ol double barrel and start walking around the office complex. Most of the time it's not a real zombie outbreak but you can never be too careful...

We harpe on the subject of good horror franchises and the lack of video games for said franchises almost weekly here on HororBid. We're not going to bore you with another rant about why certain slasher movies would transfer great to your XBOX 360 but one of HorrorBid's freelance writers (David Foskey) set out to create his own list of movies that need a video game counterpart. Check it out after the break...

This is an update to a previous article we did a few years ago and one that needs to be examined again with a few additions. Patterns, formulas, cliches or whatever you want to call them, there are certain repeated events in horror films that we’ve all seen a million times. Some of these patterns are good, however there are other patterns in horror flicks that would have us think they happen all the time in real life when they don't...

Now I've gone and done it. This is a tough list to narrow down and in the end it really depends on personal preference. However, there's nothing like a good twist at a movie's climax. Just when you think you've got it all figured out and Bam! The killer's your grandma!!! Ok probably not, but out of all the shocking movie endings the horror genre knows how it's done. From seeing dead people to wading through the mist, read more for HorrorBid's top 10.

What a year for Horror! 2009 is about to close but before that happens we thought we'd tally up the '09 Horror Movie Box Office leaders. No more this movie is better than that movie crap. The numbers are in and your money has spoken. Was Megan Fox's body hot enough to take the number one spot or does it sparkle? We're sticking with domestic totals but feel free to jump over to boxofficemojo.com for worldwide totals.

Just in the nick of time comes HorrorBid's top 10 most significant horror flicks of the decade! Unlike everybody's best of '09 and decade lists we wanted to be different. Instead of defending why we think certain movies of the past 10 years are better than others we decided to concentrate on films that have had the biggest horror impact instead. This means there could be movies in this list that we don't particularly like but that's not the point.

The 2000's—the decade of iPods, social networking websites and economic hardship—were an interesting decade for horror movies, to say the least. You either loved them, or you downright hated them. From remakes, re-imaginings, reboots, restarts and resets to foreign imports to a resurgence of low-grade schlock, the 2000's were not without gore for fans across the globe....

Any top 10 list you create, no matter what the subject, is always met with a few different but similar reactions. "What the hell are you guys thinking?" And "That list sucks, why didn't "blank" make the cut you idiots?" The word blank is usually replaced with a billion things that we should have included but didn't. So knowing this is a no win situation going in, why create these lists in the first place you ask? The simple answer. Disagreeing with people is fun....

Entertainment Weekly released their Top 20 Horror Films of the Last 20 Years today and while I am shocked with some of the choices it's good to see a mainstream rag show attention to the genre we all love. With any list there's always going to be hit and misses and while I back some of their choices 100% I am flat out appalled at others....

The horror film genre has become so diverse that it has spawned many sub-genres. These sub-genres range anywhere from Zombies to Slashers, from Werewolves to . . . Vampires! Like others, the vamp sub-genre has its own style and even though many of these characteristics have grown from the 1897 Bram Stoker novel Dracula, vampire legends have evolved in modern day folklore but also span to past cultures such as Mesopotamia. Understanding this, it's no surprise that these demons have made their way into the world's most popular and current way of story telling, movies.

Alright HorrorBid's first official top 10 list! There are a lot of great horror movies out there but lets face it, some of them can be pretty far fetched.
