We will start posting various insider rumors that we receive from time to time but we want to make it very clear that these are indeed rumors we are getting and nothing more. Well Bidites, I had gotten a little nervous over the past couple of days with the lack of remake news. Could it be? Was it over? Of course not! DUH! Universal laughs at your wishes for originality!!! MUAHAHAHA!!! Anyway…..
MGM is FINALLY starting to show life again! They are developing so many original projects it’s not even funny! That’s how I wish I could have started this paragraph, but for anyone that has been keeping up, this sadly is not the case. MGM is looking to develop remakes to many of the titles in their catalogue, despite the Poltergeist sequel they seem to be moving forward with - oh yeah, and ROBOCOP is the latest fatality to be hit by the remake bullet. If you’ve been dreading and trying to ignore any mention of the Hellraiser remake looming over the horizon, however some good news has arrived. While on their publicity tour for Drive Angry, Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer have been talking a bit about their upcoming projects....

There are only a handful of films out there that get such great response at festivals and are never picked up for distribution. Many things can factor into that such as limited theatrical release met with poor acceptance, such as THE POUGHKEEPSIE TAPES, and even just not being sold. Last year, when Miramax sold their library there were some they just couldn’t get rid of and that WAS the case with DON’T BE AFRAID OF THE DARK…

Ohhhhh will nothing be sacred when this eventually happens and who are we kidding? It's going to happen and just a matter of when at this point. We've heard from the mouth of the man himself, Sam Raimi (director of the Evil Dead series), that eventually we would see a Bruce Campbell-less remake. But how will it all play out?...
People always say bad publicity is still good publicity. We're not sure that if you are remaking a movie/show whose fanbase, creator, and now actor have all publically said “it’s a bad idea” will help out come release day. Anthony Stewart Head, who played Buffy's watcher Giles on the show says “It’s a horrible idea, in as much as Buffy was a great conceit. It was a great story"... 
Something that has always bugged us, and many of you I’m sure, is the lack of recognition of horror at award shows. Every once in a while a SILENCE OF THE LAMBS will pop up and win a few but other than that it is pretty bleak; However, this is the start of a new decade, and horror is slowly starting to gain the praise it deserves...
