To say that Insidious will scare the crap out of you only seems to take away from what the movie really is. There are some great scares in the film but is that the only way to get an audience into a theatre now? The film delivers characters who actually use logic, a very creepy atmosphere, insane amounts of tension, some seriously funny moments and makes a seemingly normal song become something that will haunt you forever....

Being that it is St. Patrick's day today, you will see many people sporting the color green and participating in other various activities associated with today but you may not feel like going out, that's ok because you can stay home and have your own fun and you can start your fun off right by watching an awesome movie like Leprechaun...

With 2012 supposedly being the end of mankind as we know it there have been many films depicting just how it might happen, from zombies taking over to natural disasters such as in 2012 and we as fans have probably seen it all. In Brad Anderson's latest film he proposes a new idea of how it could all go down by asking one simple question, what if the world were engulfed in total darkness...

I have to say that Battle: LA was more war movie than I thought it would be. I think I was expecting some sort of indulgent CG fest along the lines of Independance Day. Instead, the film is very focused on one group of Marines who are sent out to a local police station to rescue some civilians who have been found...

When I first saw the commercial for FACE/OFF I was more than stoked for this show to start. Now every Wednesday night at 10 pm (est), I find myself tuning into the SyFy channel to catch the only reality TV show that has ever sparked my interest....

"Ridiculous flick with more action in 5 mins than story in 90 mins" Not exactly a stamp you want to show up on your Blu-ray case, but exactly what should have been expected. I hope that nobody expected Drive Angry to be a well laid out plot driven film. Of course with Nicolas Cage leading the charge it’s probably safe to assume that we all knew exactly what this one would turn out like....

Welcome to BEAST’S FLASHBACK, where like the critics said of Elias Mehrige’s BEGOTTEN: we point a flood light in those places we choose not to look. For those new to this column, allow the author to explain. In this space we will look at films from the past and present that have, for some reason or another, gone relatively unnoticed...

I honestly thought, in the bubble where I keep my thoughts, that it couldn't get much more extreme than Ennis' run on Crossed. How could it? How could it get worse than heartless, point-blank, kid murder. How could anyone top a married couple getting raped while their little girl is torn limb from limb in front of their screaming eyes? No way! End game. Than I opened the cover to Crossed: Family Values, David Lapham's (Stray Bullets) sequel to Ennis' all-too-short-lived run on Crossed. ....

In a time where the video game market is dominated by sports titles and first person shooters the Dead Space franchise brings life to a seemingly dying genre, survival horror. Since the mid-90’s survival horror was limited to only a few franchises, Resident Evil and Silent Hill being the main titles gamers had to play. I absolutely loved Resident Evil and all sequels to follow, but as it grew as a franchise it started to steer away from survival horror and went more towards the action based shooter we finally saw with Resident Evil 5...

Minotaur is the dark love-child of Top Cow and Image... a long dead imprint recently reanimated in the form of their new horror label. Mind you they haven't officially called it their horror label. They use the phrasing "darker and more nuanced", but I personally think that's redundant, as Top Cow with titles like; The Darkness & Witchblade, is already a pretty dark universe as it is. Anyway, sorry about that history lesson, Echoes is one of Minotaur's re-launch titles. A somber gray & white family affair, steeped in dementia & shaded in serial murder....

Wes Craven has always been known for his love of suspense , in fact, the whole "Who's the killer?" is the main hook of the scream franchise, it just was fun to try and guess who was it and by the end just get your mind blown by finding out you were wrong, but I'm afraid that's just not the case with "My Soul To Take"...

Today is the release of one of our personal favorite slasher movie and in honor of the great HATCHET II, we have dug up our original review along with all the DVD and Blu-fay info needed to make an informed purchase. Director Adam Green has warned us if you don't by a copy that he will quote "kill a small kitten" but if you do buy a copy he will save one. (j/k) In all seriousness it is a fun film, not a huge fan of the first? Neither were we but we loved the sequel!....

What a better time to review CHAIN LETTER than today (Feb. 1st) the day it hits DVD and Blu-ray everywhere. Usually, if a film starts to generate some buzz based on early, or limited screenings, I go out of my way to remain willfully ignorant of it's contents. “CHAIN LETTER” is something that I begun hearing buzz about in early 2010. Apparently it did a short theatrical run earlier in the year...

Based on the book by Matt Baglio, The Rite is exactly what you would expect from another film about exorcism. The advantage of this film is that it is based on the factual tale of Rev. Gary Thomas, changed to Michael Kovak for the film. I'll use the term factual lightly as it really is up to the viewer to determine what their belief on the entire matter is....

ROTTEN is the S'mores of zombie comics. The Rocky Road of westerns. Meaning; it combines 3 of my favorite things into one delicious package. Namely; zombies, westerns, and a tough as railroad-spikes hero. It's horror with history. THE WALKING DEAD in the old west. Romero-Eastwood. A top notch zombie comic. Not as good as WD, but so far it's a cut above the rest. Grade A undead meat ripe for mass-consumption while you wait for the main course...

I really had high hopes for this one. I have enjoyed all of Christopher Smith’s previous films but this one moves way too slow for too long. I was expecting a majority of the film to take place in the small town where the villagers aren’t affected by the plague but it plays only a small part in the end. What we’re left with is a group of soldiers walking and walking to get there....

There is little doubt that the upcoming SCREAM 4 sequel that hits April 15th is one of the most talked about horror films of 2011. It has been 10 years since we've had any "scream-da-monium" and since the announcement of the fourth film the suspense of "will it live up to the hype?" has been the hot topic of Bidites everywhere...

When the guys asked me if I'd like to work on a Dario Argento piece I jumped at it. I was only 20 years old when I was able to get a hold of a Dario Argento flick. It was purchased out of state by my girlfriend for me on my birthday; needless to say it was the best birthday ever. The movie in question was none other than Profondo Rosso (a.k.a. Deep Red). That is the movie that changed my life...

I can’t even begin to remember the last time a film affected me like Black Swan did. It’s mind bending, challenging your thoughts on what you’ve just seen.
