When Konami suggested a Halloween release for SAW II: Flesh & Blood at E3, it apparently meant a date close to All Hallow's Eve because it's a few weeks early, which isn't a bad thing. The publisher today announced the October 19 release date of the game, "just in time for the release of Saw VII 3D, the seventh installment of the popular horror franchise from Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures."

One thing about the 'SAW' franchise, good or bad, is the marketing campaigns and the movie posters. From the original design all the way up the latter, just about everyone clamors to see what the poster will look like. Usually they are incredibly witty designs that show an emphasis on the torture aspect of the film...

Although the first "SAW" video game left much to be desired, it was a step in the right direction. We have been very vocal on this site about wanting to see more horror video games and this announcement has us excited for the very fact that it's another step in the right direction. Yes they dropped the roman numerals and the number 7, it will now be refereed to "SAW 3D" and will most likely be the end of the franchise. Although this isn't the US version, expect something around Comic Con time, this is at least a taste of the "SAW 3D" international marketing campaign...
