Eight months from now on Oct. 22, just before Halloween, 'Paranormal Activity 2' will be going head to head with 'SAW 7' in 3D. Sounds exciting doesn't it? One problem. The director that was supposed to shoot 'Paranormal Activity 2' is busy being forced to direct 'SAW 7' (oh don't forget it's in 3D). So where does that leave us? No director for 'Paranormal Activity 2'. Sound like a mess? That's because it is...

We've reported quite extensively on this topic and the issues with having Saw 6 director (Kevin Greutert) back to direct Saw 7, a film he didn't want to make. DemonFm radio recently interviewed Jigsaw himself, Tobin Bell and he broke the news that not only the director isn't happy but now the the decision to shoot the film in 3D has also created friction between the cast and studio.

The 2010 Toy Fair is a slasher fans dream as the big 3 (Myers, Freddy and Jason) are always well represented. We just snagged some pics of the 6" Mez-Itz slasher line that is due out this April. From an Anime style look at Jackie Early Haley as Freddy Krueger to the classic Robert Englund version, we're treated to variations from a few big slasher icons...

Although Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures recently confirmed we would see the return of Jigsaw once again in Saw 8, plans for the follow up film may be dead before the script gets printed on paper. In a recent interview with screenwriter Patrick Melton (Saw IV-VII) he reveals that due to the lackluster numbers Saw VII 3D could be the end of Jigsaw once and for all. Did Paranormal Activity damage the brand to the point of no return?...

Kevin Greutert had wrapped up shooting on Saw VI and was ready to move on to another project, one he really wanted to be a part of. He was announced tentatively as the director for Paranormal Activity 2 and before the announcement settled his contractual obligation to do the follow up Saw VII in 3D was instated. Was this a bad dream or one of Jigsaw's elaborate games? No this was real life and a case of the legal fine print...

First off, can we chance the name of this movie? For one thing it's awkward to say. Saw VII 3D? I mean how about something a bit more topical like, (Saw VII -The highjacking of a director that doesn't want to make the movie so why should we see it...oh and it's in 3D!). All joking aside this project is obviously going to happen and we have the latest on who will be on screen when SAW VII hits theatres this Halloween...

Well "game over" in our best Jigsaw voice. The nail is finally in the coffin and boy we can't imagine how great Saw VII 3D (hmmm a film in 3D? It'll never work!) is going to turn out now that they've contractually forced a director to do a film he so clearly does not want to be a part of. If only we could be a fly on the wall during production. Somehow we don't thik this will be the end of the Saw vs. Paranormal Activity fued though...

The battle over director Kevin Greutert of the Saw VI fame got nasty last night (CLICK HERE) when Twisted Pictures and Lionsgate announced that they were not letting Greutert out of his contract to direct Paranormal Activty 2. This has just turned into a cat fight 'Bidites! We announced around a week ago we that Saw VI director Kevin Greutert was hired to direct Paranormal Activity 2. It seemed like an odd move at the time due to the box office rivalry between the two films but no one could have expected what we just found out...

Fans of SAW 6 will be interested to know that after the credits end on the unrated version of the DVD/Blu-Ray there is an extra scene featuring Amanda (Shawnee Smith) offering a bit of a warning for one tiny captive. Alright 'Bidites, you can't sit there and tell us you didn't see this coming! Everything and we mean EVERYTHING next year and the year after next (hell probably from now on) is going to be in 3D. It was only a matter of time before your beloved (or not so beloved) Saw franchise took the leap. Is this the jolt the series needs?...

The Halloween King at the box office has fallen. Saw VI came in at number two on its opening weekend making only $14.1 million, that's $4 million less than the previous low of the original SAW. However, it seems to be generally getting positive reviews so what gives? Has the series finally run its coarse? Has their lame marketing of no hooks or tease of story finally caught up with them? More importantly, did you like it and what did you think?

Saw fans and horror fans in general have had one thing to look forward to the past 6 years around Halloween and that 's a new Saw film. Some love the series for its brutal realistic torture scenes and the elaborate nature that Jigsaw sets up his traps. Now this could be cool depending on how flashy you like your wardrobe. Marc Ecko, known Star Wars hoodies, has released Friday the 13th and SAW themed Black Rhino hoodies. Not sure how many of you horror collectors like gear that screams "look at me" but you have to admit it's still a wicked idea and easy on the eyes. However, these hoodies are a bit pricey and my guess is only die hard horror fans will flash the plastic. Read more for pics and details.

The last two Saw entries lacked a little someone called Amanda. Shawnee Smith's character was very much a big part of the franchise and its success. I personally feel her absence left a void in Jigsaw's mad world of torture but now it's about to be refilled with Amanda's return in the upcoming sixth installment. Don't believe me? Read more for the first image of Shawnee Smith as Amanda in SAW VI.
