Horror- Rated R, PG-13, don't matter?

New postby Dark Passenger » Wed Mar 16, 2011 11:23 pm

How do you guys feel about horror and a PG-13 rating? I personally was looking forward to seeing Insidious. After the trailer was over and I saw PG-13 I lost all interest in it. Horror should be chock full of swears, blood, tits, and violence (not in any order). Am I being to hard on our baby Horror?

For the most part I want totally uncensored horror. Gore, profanity, nudity, gore, boobs, boobs, gore. The only part of unrated horror I don't like is when they throw in gratuitous rape. Few movies can do it well (The Hills Run Red) but in most movies it seems out of place and disgusting for the sake of being disgusting (Rob Zombie's Halloween). I'm with Tom, 99% of the time when I see a horror movie is PG-13, I don't bother seeing it, especially in theaters. I'm sick of seeing a horror film and having the 13 year old Twilight fans scream so loud I can't hear half the movie. :imcrazy:

I thought the same thing about Insidious. Typically I try to be open to the idea of a PG-13.But I can't really name any great horror flicks with that rating.I'm a full frontal "R" kinda guy....although there is a line i don't want genital mutilation or things really rough like that.R is what they're meant for its gotta have that dark anything's possible feel that comes with the imagination. :ME LIKES:

Im all for uncesored mindless violence there are decent "scary films" such as The Ring but I dont consider that horror. I know companys want to make as much money as they can and by a film being rated PG13 they can bring in a wider audience but thats what takes away from the film no blood no tits = :TakeThis:
