Creating a Shock Monster!

New postby kreaturekid » Sat Apr 21, 2012 1:35 pm

Hi guys, My name is Adam Dougherty (The KreatureKid), Im 21 years old a huge monster fan. Iv been sculpting for about 10 years and have recently been doing professional work for a few companies, mainly doing small figures and styrene model kits. But recently I had an idea that i just had to do.

Iv always been a huge fan of the classic Topstone halloween masks, mainly the Shock Monster. One of the most iconic images of 50"s halloween. With this piece I wanted to show what the character would look like as full, real monster. So i sculpted, cast him in silicone, painted, haired, and did everything to bring this creature to life. After 6 months of work I finally premiered him at this years Monsterpalooza! He stands 7 1/2' tall on a spooky neighborhood sidewalk base. So here he is, for the first time the full figure Shock Monster.
