Dwight Schrute from "The Office" May Get Spin-Off?

For those of you who love The Office,

THR has confirmed that NBC is looking to develop "The Office" spin-off, centered around Dwight Schrute (Rainn Wilson). The idea would be to further explore the Schrute family beat farm, with multiple generations of Schrutes involved.

The plan is to test the concept on an episode of "The Office" later this season. The network understands that a move like this is risky, one that may end up short-lived (like "Joey," which was a "Friends" spin-off) and may potentially hurt "The Office," which is struggling with ratings.

At this point, "The Office" has yet to be picked up for ninth season, but THR believes that a renewal is very likely.

Dwight Schrute is godly. I'd love to see him play an even bigger role in the Office. An offshoot would be great but I wonder if it would pull a big enough audience, by that I mean beyond Dwight Schrute fans.
