Breaking: Freddy Krueger 'ANOES' Officially Coming In Video Game Form (VIDEO)

It may not be the exact gaming news that we are all looking for but its pretty damn close. Freddy Krueger has just been announced as the fourth "downloadable" character in the MORTAL KOMBAT game that came out earlier this year. One small problem for hardcore horror fans though. This looks to be the Freddy Krueger taken from the 2010 Michael Bay remake and not the original portrayed by Robert Englund. A big letdown but Freddy Krueger in a video game is sweet none-the-less.

Disappointing as that may be, this is still Frederick Charles Krueger you'll be playing as in Mortal Kombat -- fatalities and all. Like the previous DLC characters, he will cost $4.99 (400 Microsoft Points) upon release on August 9.

With this news and Robert Englund appearing in CALL OF THE DEAD which was a DLC feature for CALL OF DUTY are we one step closer to finally getting a full fledge slasher video game on modern consoles? A lot of MK fans are freaking out about this. I'm a MK fan myself and have been waiting for the 4th DLC to see who the mysterious character was. Honestly, I didn't see it coming. However I think it's funny and awesome that they put Freddy in the game. Can't wait.
