In Friday the 13th it was a fun linear game with three dimensional elements where you move around Crystal Lake killing zombies and gathering weapons as you do.The more zombies that you killed, the better weapon you would obtain. Along the way you would enter the large cabins and light the fireplaces inside. After all of the fireplaces were lit, you would receive a torch. Oh how I loved getting my hands on that torch. During game play whenever you would hear the sound of music playing, that was your cue to check your map and find out which cabin that Jason was in. Back when I was a wee little lad I would always take my fastest character like Mark and run to which ever cabin he was in and face him. It was always fairly easy to beat Jason with a fast character back then. But now that I have many years of experience at playing this game under my belt - I can just take Mark into the first cabin I come to, switch to whichever character is in the same cabin with Jason, and destroy him with ease! It doesn't matter which character I chose, even the slowest characters like George or Paul can kill Jason with ease.
The aforementioned three dimensional elements of the game only took place as your character made his way through the cabins. And just an F.Y.I, Jason is not the only boss in the game. You can also face Jason's mothers head if you go on the hunt for the hidden room in the cave. Once you face Jason you must drain his life bar completely, which take three times, in order to beat the game. He is faster each time he comes back so it gets alittle tougher but the game becomes easy after enough practice.You also have the option of beating Jason's mothers head three times, who like her son, is also a lot faster each time she comes back.
Me and my cousin had a blast playing it when we were kids, and I still enjoy playing it from time to time as an adult. Their isn't anything more fun than facing off with an 8-bit version of Jason Voorhees one-on-one except of course facing off with an 8-bit version of Freddy Krueger.
A Nightmare on Elm street is a game where you take on the role of an ordinary character and when the dream bar drains, and you enter into the dream world, you recieve special Dream Warrior type ability's that you gain by picking up certain icons throughout the game. There are seven levels, three houses, a junkyard, graveyard, Freddy's house and Elm Street High - where you face ghosts and bats and other enemies. The boss battles are Freddy's glove attached to a chain, Freddy's head attached to a chain, Freddy's Glove not connected to a chain, Freddy Ghost, Freddy bat, Freddy's head and glove in the same battle. When you finally get through all that craziness you must face them all again on the last level of the game, and after you accomplish that "short" task you go one on one with Freddy Krueger himself.
The game is alot of fun. It's a little more difficult than Friday the 13th but with enough practice it is pretty simple to obtain victory.There really isn't any negative points to these great vintage games.They are alot of fun to play and will give you hours of enjoyment.
