Jon Knautz’s second feature length film has already garnered massive critical praise, and given the quality offering that was Knautz’s first effort, Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer, The Shrine is unlikely to disappoint.
The film focuses on a small crew of journalists who set out to investigate a cult that’s been rumored to commit human sacrifices. However, while investigating this vile bunch, these aspiring journalists run into more than technical difficulties when their hunger for a sensational story leads them right into the belly of the beast.
The Shrine stars Aaron Ashmore (The Thaw), Cindy Sampson (The Last Kiss), Meghan Heffern (The Fog) and Trevor Matthews (Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer). Knautz, along with Trevor Matthews and Brendan Moore penned the screenplay.
