On No, Say It's Not True... Frankenstein To Go Found Footage Style?

New postby Brian Massey » Wed Apr 25, 2012 6:24 pm

Some people truly believe that found footage films are just the current craze in the horror industry, yet others declare that they're here to stay. Nonetheless, now that this "trend" has gone viral, it seems as if just about every major studio wants to now partake in it by releasing their own form of found footage terror in the shear hopes to cash-in just like its predecessors.

And so it is with today's news that we'd like to inform the Bidite Nation of a brand new project that just received the green light. Enter "The Reawakening," which is yet another Frankenstein project among the myriad of other projects that have been announced, the only difference is this one has got a bit of a twist - it will be filmed in found footage style. In case your scratching your head right about now and wondering what the hell is going on, we assure you this is not a typo, you read it correctly - a found footage Frankenstein movie is on its way.

According to Vulture,'V/H/S directors Tyler Gillet, Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, Justin Martinez and Chad Villella are slated to take on the project. The quartet which calls themselves Radio Silence, would be a solid choice for the production, especially since their most recent flick was filmed in the same style that The Reawakening will be.

The script will be written b Luke Dawson (Shutter). At the present time no information has been shed as to when the movie will begin filming.

Haha! Your post goes with your avatar...

But as far as this topic goes, I think this is the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. Frankensteins monster isn't even fast...unless they totally reimagine the whole story behind him. Hopefully people stop going to see so many found footage films so we can get some more quality films on the screen.

Ehm is this movie set in present time?...I thought in the old Frankenstein movie, there was no camera to capture monsters or blair witches 'n stuff.....or am i just the crazy one here?
Or maybe they had video aquipment in the old days..
the idea sounds a bit lame...Frankenstein back in business, why not get some great 3D effects to get along..sorry, I'm just being sarcastic. But if TheWolfman got another go, why not our classic monster...would be a big thrill if Frankenstein would bring in more money then the monsters of the 80's horrormovie-remakes.

I totally agree, although I would rather see it get the new 4K resolution treatment that a lot of films will start to get.
