When I first saw the trailer for
Grave Encounters it was insane, and as a result I was completely stoked and I couldn't wait to see it. The film which was shot in found footage style, followed the crew of a fictional paranormal reality television program who lock themselves in a haunted psychiatric hospital much like the
Ghost Adventures Crew, in search of evidence of paranormal activity. What they end up shooting ends up becoming their final episode for obvious reason. I really liked the film, minus one scene that had a ridiculous dose of CGI, and came off looking really fake. But other then that, I thought I was a solid and enjoyable film. But I'm a sucker for the found footage genre... need I say anymore?
So you're probably wondering by now why I spewing on about a film that saw its release on DVD last year. Actually, I'm sure you already know where all of this is leading up to because the title says it all!
Although details are scant, this terrifying new sequel will come to us once again from
the Vicious Brothers and
DarcLight Films. This time the film follows a group of film students who break into the hospital from the first film to do their own paranormal investigation and quickly realize that
GRAVE ENCOUNTERS was not just a movie... it was real.
Currently
Grave Encounters 2 is moving into pre-production, so we can expect more details in the next few weeks.
