The CEO of MGM; Roger Birnbaum has just recently implied that the Carrie remake starring Chloe Moretz will now be partially filmed in the style of a found footage film. It's not clear which parts of the film will be like this, but going back to Stephen King's novel, he uses the epistolary technique. This is basically using documents such as letters, interviews and newspaper clippings to document what happened, in other words, the literary equivalent of a found footage film. So it would make sense if the film showed POV shots from other students at the prom, or even a news crew following the event and interviewing the survivors.
Carrie is expected to hit cinemas in March 2013.
