EVIL DEAD Remake Gets An Official Plot Synopsis!

The word "remake" seems to be a pretty bad word in the horror industry, as I'm sure many of you can attest to. The general consensus is, if it's not broke, then don't fix it -- especially when it comes to The Evil Dead. However as we all know, except those people who are still residing under rocks, a remake of The Evil Dead is forthcoming and not to many fans are happy due in part to the early plot details coupled with the fact that there will be no ASH. With all that being said Ghost House Pictures, which is producing the film, released a new plot synopsis for the film. Although very brief, it does offer a little bit more insight to all of us naysayers. Read on for the official details, and see if you still disapprove of the film.

"In the much anticipated remake of the 1981 cult-hit horror film, five twenty-something friends become holed up in a remote cabin. When they discover a Book of the Dead, they unwittingly summon up dormant demons living in the nearby woods, which possess the youngsters in succession until only one is left intact to fight for survival."


From a screenplay written by Fede Alvarez and Rodo Sayagues with Diablo Cody, comes the remake of The Evil Dead which boasts a core cast of young, fresh talent that includes; Jane Levy ("Suburgatory") as Mia; Shiloh Fernandez (Deadgirl, Red Riding Hood) as David; Lou Taylor Pucci (Carriers) as Eric; Jessica Lucas (Cloverfield) as Olivia; and Elizabeth Blackmore (Legend of the Seeker) as Natalie.

The plotsynopsis isn't very interesting, since we all know about the original movie..but I hope it has the deviance and brutal stuff we all love..that and ofcourse the over the top demons...if that is in the remake, then I'm a happy guy.
