UPDATED INFO: John Carpenter's 'Halloween' Is Coming Back To Theaters This October!

UPDATE: Ever since we first announced the details for the theatrical re-release of Halloween, we've been flooded by a number of questions mainly regarding the release date, film transfer and showings. Well Bidites, we are now able to shed a little light on all of those questions. Read on for all of the answers.

• Beginning October 25th, the original genre-defining horror masterpiece will once again grace the big screen.

• This nationwide release for John Carpenter's Halloween is the widest the film has seen since originally shocking audiences in '78, and will be presented in a striking new HD transfer and 5.1 audio.

With this October looking pretty dismal for horror, wouldn't it be totally amazing if theaters across this great nation would once again lend their screens and present John Carpenter's Halloween in a way that it would truly kick ass? Oh yeah baby... it's true - Michael is headed back to the theater, and so will be all of his sick and twisted fans! Read on for more of this killer news!

This October, John Carpenter's immortal classic, HALLOWEEN, will be making a return to theaters nationwide. This will be the biggest run the film has had since shocking audiences in 1978, and makes for the perfect early kick-off to next year's 35th Anniversary celebration.

Screening before the film will be YOU CAN'T KILL THE BOGEYMAN: 35 YEARS OF HALLOWEEN, a new mini-documentary written and directed by our own Justin Beahm, focusing on the undeniable impact the film (and series) has had on culture and the genre. The documentary will run at all screenings coast-to-coast.

Thanks for the report.This is awesome news.I really think that they should do something like this every year.Who knows if theres a good turn out for Halloween maybe they will bring Halloween II back to the big screen next year.I would like to see all the other major franchises get there older movies back onto the big screen at some point.I think it would be good because most of didn't excist back then in most cases or were too young in other cases.I think if somebody had the money to get started they could have a theatre dedicated to just showing great classic horror movies and make a ton of cash because of the popular fan base.Im really looking forward to seeing this.

This is the #1 movie that I have wanted to see on the big screen my entire life. Carpenter's use of the 2.35 frame demands it!

Hopefully this comes to the CT / MA/ RI area so I can finally see it. If so, it will most likely be the closest thing I will ever have to a religious experience.
