Leading Independent Haunted Attraction "Sinister Pointe" Announces 2011 Dates

New postby Shakelford, J. Rusty » Wed Jul 20, 2011 10:51 am

Orange County's Sinister Pointe Haunted Attraction, which recently unveiled its brand new year-round facility in Brea, is set to scare southern California once again this Halloween season. The haunt, which was named one of the Top 3 Scariest Haunts in SoCal by Scare-Zone.com, will offer fright fans a totally immersive - and highly interactive - haunted house experience, offering visitors the ability to plot their own course through the maze and make choices that will create a different experience with each new visit.

Sinister Pointe, which has been haunting visitors for more than a decade, is one of the few professional haunts with humble yard haunt origins. Mastermind Jeff Schiefelbein, who personally oversees maze design and creates all of the Sinister Pointe sets and props in-house, has seen his haunt blossom into one of O.C.'s most popular Halloween attractions alongside area stalwarts like Knott's Berry Farm's annual Halloween Haunt and Universal Studios' Halloween Horror Nights.

In fact, Sinister Pointe takes pride in the attention to detail and passion for giving visitors a personal experience that sets the haunt apart from the corporate "big guys." According to Schiefelbein, "One of the most exciting new features we're offering this year is a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' type of maze. Essentially, there will be consequences for the choices you make when moving from room to room, allowing visitors to take 12 different possible paths through the maze." To accommodate fans who want to experience the maze in all of its different incarnations, discounted tickets will be offered for repeat visitors. Schiefelbein also plans to extend the fun to those waiting to enter the maze by using the extra space afforded by the new permanent location to create a "carnival atmosphere" for the line area, featuring food trucks, Halloween-related vendors and other attractions.

Sinister Pointe 2011 will be open to the public on the following dates:
Friday, September 30 through Sunday, October 2; Friday, October 7 through Sunday, October 9; Thursday, October 13 through Sunday, October 16; Thursday, October 20 through Sunday, October 23; and Wednesday, October 26 through Monday, October 31.

Hours of operation are 7 PM to 11 PM Sundays through Thursdays, and 7 PM to 12 AM Fridays and Saturdays.

General admission is $15, or $23 for a "Scream Pass" (which bestows front of the line privileges) and $28 for an "All Nite Pass" (allows multiple trips through the maze) or $33 for an "All Nite Scream Pass" (front of the line + multiple trips through maze).
