BREAKING: First Cast Member Joins The Evil Dead Remake!

After following the upcoming Evil Dead remake for God knows how long here on HorrorBid, we finally have the first official cast member!

Lily Collins is the first aboard the remake of Sam Raimi's cult classic Evil Dead. Lily is said to play Mia,a drug addict who is brought to a cabin in the woods by her friends for an intervention, which leads to her being possessed by demons. Hmmmm good friends. Lily has also appeared in titles like Abduction, Priest and is playing Snow White in the upcoming movie Mirrir, Mirror.

The remake is helmed from director Fede Alvarez, who will direct the film, from a script written by Rodo Sayagues and that was revised by Diablo Cody. Evil Dead originals Sam Raimi, Bruce Campbell and Rob Tapert all return to the franchise to produce the film.

The film is currently set for a release April 12,2013 and we pray that like alot of films,that release date doesnt change.

Good casting, I reckon. She has that really sweet and innocent look so there'll be more whiplash once here innocence gets defiled by the evil Kandarian Demons that dwell in the cabin. Honestly, despite the nerd-hatery, I am really looking forward to this. Diablo Cody, like her or hate her, you have to admit she's adept at writing good dialogue, and believe she has given the story a fairly good direction. We'll just have to wait until 2013 before we can pass our final judgement...
