Rooney Mara "Nancy" Hated Her Role & The 2010 "A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET" Remake

If you're a fan of the "ANOES" remake than this news will probably bring out some anger towards Ms. Rooney Mara (currently in THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO), if you hated the movie than this will more than likely have you nodding with a sneering grin thinking to yourself, yeah I knew the film sucked, even the stars hated it.

Below is an exert taken from a recent interview with Mara (who played the lead role of Nancy in the film) from Entertainment Weekly, feast on it below, Freddy Kureger will haunt her dreams forever now:

Mara told EW the 2010 remake was a role she didn't really want. "And then I went in [to audition] and I was like, "F**k, I definitely got that," she says.

Later in the interview, she details what happened after the film.

"I didn't want to act anymore. I was like, This isn't what I signed up for. If this is what my opportunities are going to be like, then I'm not that interested in acting. So I was very discouraged and disheartened. And then I got the Social Network script. That kind of inspired me."

She sounds pretty stuck up judging from this quote (which I admit isn't really fair). The ANOES remake was pretty damn good IMO, but that isn't even the point. Good or bad, she had the chance to act in a major Hollywood film and be seen by millions. There are thousands of struggling, aspiring actresses that would have happily accepted the part. Suck it up.

Once again, how many people in Hollywood got their start in horror? Sam Raimi, Spielberg, Johnny Depp, Jamie Lee Curtis, oh hell, we're horror fans, we know the story. A TON of people did. Just about anyone who's anyone in Hollywood has worked on a (cheesy) horror movie at some point. What Rooney Mara said was incredibly arrogant, ignorant, and naive. She's obviously talented so I can only hope she changes her tune.

what the FUCK? is she that self centered?? Most people would KILL to get that type of role. Hell, it's hard enough to pursue acting as it is with all the obstacles you run in to. Shit, she doesn't need to be acting, go flip burgers somewhere if you think you're better than everyone else.

Sorry if I offend anyone, but excuse me, there are females out there who are dying (no pun intended) to be in movies.

Rooney is kind of committing actor/actress taboo. What is she going to do when people involved in whatever studio think that she'll just talk shit about their movie afterward, or think that she's not going to be passionate about her role? I like her as an actress, so hopefully she won't be screwed. Then again, if she does, then it's her own fault.

I'm surprised that you guys liked her as an actress because I couldn't really get into her character in the remake, she just felt too bland to me.
