New postby Brian Massey » Wed Feb 22, 2012 12:25 am

Universal Lovers, did you really think that 2012 wasn't gonna bring any new goodies to the table? If ya did, then you thought wrong!

We just got wind from Figures.com that Diamond Select Toys will be continuing their line or figures featuring three more classic horror icons to the Universal family. Check out the skinny.

With two years already under it's belt, DST will enter year number 3 of their successful line of Universal Monsters action figures with some brand new creature greats. Come September 2012 fans can look forward to Series 3. As with past waves, this series will be split between Toys"R"Us (standard series) and specialty stores ("Select" wave). For TRU look for Metaluna Mutant, Invisible Man, and the Phantom of the Opera with violin. The more deluxe "Select" assortment will pack Metaluna Mutant with Interociter and Phantom of the Opera with organ.

As a special bonus DST provided a sneak peak at thier Universal Monsters Wave 4 which will be available in 2013. The figures are tentatively scheduled to hit shelves in September with and assortment that contains the following:

Toys"R"Us - Hunchback of Notre Dame, Mole Person and Dr. Jekyll

"Select" - Hunchback with Gargoyle and Mr. Hyde with Rooftop
